The Third Sector has been an essential force for social good for centuries. However, as we enter a new era of technological advancement, global challenges, and shifting societal values, the third sector must adapt to remain relevant and effective.
- What are the most pressing social issues that the third sector will need to focus on in the next few years?
- How can charities better collaborate with other sectors to maximise their impact?
- How can the third sector become more diverse, equitable and inclusive in its operations and outcomes?

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is already helping many third-sector organisations tackle this head-on – particularly when it comes to shouldering time-consuming, repetitive administrative tasks that drain resources and tie-up skills that could better directed elsewhere, and in helping charities communicate with their supporters.
In this panel discussion, join Mike Stewart (Intelligent Automation Practice Lead) and David Morton (Sales and Solutions Director) from Arvato CRM Solutions and James Stephens (Director of Finance and Commercial Services) from the Wales Air Ambulance Charity, to discuss the scope, benefits and future of robotic workers and transformative technologies within charity operations.

The team you hire will make or break the future of your organisation.
With a more competitive market than ever, a cost of living crisis, a challenging fundraising environment, and increasing pressures to improve diversity, is the current process for hiring in charities broken?
Over half of all charities don’t have a single woman of colour on their board, and almost a third have boards that are entirely white. There are pressures to improve diversity not just at board level, with most organisations struggling to truly represent the community that they serve from junior through to exec.
Diversity concerns aside, the nonprofit sector is facing the highest rate of staff turnover in the labour market, with 18.1% of labour turnover in it’s workforce in 2022 alone. Ensuring that you hire a highly-skilled and diverse workforce that delivers on the promise of your charity is one of the biggest challenges charities are facing in 2023.
As part of the roundtable session, Bradley Franks (Head of Sales at Applied), who’s worked with over 80 non-profits in the UK (Unicef UK, The Brilliant Club, and Comic Relief) will be hosting a discussion that dives into the following broad topics:
Why should charities care about improving diversity? Is there a tangible knock-on effect on your organisation's ability to deliver your mission or achieve fundraising goals?
When hiring does not go as planned, what are the implications of this?
How are you currently addressing these hiring challenges?
What are the pros and cons of taking an anonymous approach to recruitment?

Charities have always been an essential part of society, especially during times of crisis. But with increasing competition for donor funds, it's more critical than ever for nonprofits to think strategically about how they can maximise their future fundraising potential.
In this panel, chaired by Andy Ricketts (Acting Editor of Third Sector), we will explore different ways that charities can expand their reach, build stronger relationships with donors, and improve their overall fundraising efforts. Our expert panellists will draw on their years of experience in the charity sector to provide insights into the latest fundraising trends, technologies, and best practices that will see us into the future.

Legacy IT infrastructure is holding back the evolution of charity organizations, with many still managing finance and operations through spreadsheets and siloed finance solutions. With the complexities of today’s changing world organizations need to embrace collaborative finance and HR solutions, build transparency, and maximize their funding.
This round table will open the discussion on delivering transformation, share learnings from Unit4 customers who have adopted cloud finance solutions, and explore how to collect digital payments on the street and measure their impact in projects by tracking the funds journey through ERP and extend Financial Planning and Analysis to non-financial managers.

How can you reap the benefits of new technology - the right way? What role can leaders like you play in being the catalyst for change? Digital and transformation has been a hot topic for many years, and we’re keen to get into a meaningful, inspiring and practical discussion with organisational leaders like yourselves. You’ll leave the round table with examples from around the sector and beyond, actionable insights to feedback to your leaders and broader organisation and a connection to other leaders who have embarked or looking to embark on change.
We will discuss how digital and technology can accelerate your impact and the outcomes you need to achieve. How can you incorporate digital and technology into your ways of working, delivery, culture and values? How can we move from focusing on technology and digital channels to an outcome driven strategy with digital, data and technology as key drivers and enablers? AI and personalisation are hot topics right now, but technology is not where you start. We’ve worked with a vast number of not for profit organisations, from UNICEF UK, Breast Cancer Now, and Woodgreen - we’re keen to share the experiences, challenges, opportunities and great sector examples to spark this much needed conversation.
TPXimpact will host this roundtable, a digital agency specialising in transformation for good, partnering with charities and other organisations to deliver impactful, sustainable digital change.
